The BK Birla Scholars Programme supports candidates entering the full-time MBA at London Business School in London. It is funded by a £15 million endowment from the Aditya Birla Group and honours businessman and philanthropist Basant Kumar BK Birla.

Ten scholars are selected each year: five from India and five from the rest of the world. Eligible MBA candidates are considered automatically near the end of the admissions year, shortly before matriculation.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be eligible candidates for the London Business School full-time MBA.
  • Five awards are allocated to candidates from India and five to candidates from the rest of the world, so every nationality has an eligible route.
  • Selection considers academic excellence, leadership potential, integrity, dedication and service to humanity.
  • No separate scholarship application is required.

Application process

    Submit the LBS MBA application with the required online form, essays, one-page CV, university transcripts, GMAT or GRE score and professional referee details.
  2. 2
    Complete the MBA admissions interview if invited.
  3. 3
    Await automatic scholarship consideration near the end of the admissions year, just before matriculation.

Program timeline

  1. Three rounds each year

    Submit the MBA application by the relevant round deadline; deadlines are at 17:00 UK time.

  2. After submission

    The Admissions Committee reviews the application and selected candidates are interviewed.

  3. End of the admissions year, shortly before matriculation

    Eligible candidates are automatically considered for the scholarship.

  4. The currently advertised MBA intake begins.
