Hunan University’s School of Architecture and Planning runs this in-person workshop under the university’s Chinese Government Scholarship International Summer School. Participants study architectural heritage protection and contemporary urban and rural design through lectures, seminars, field visits, industry practice, and applied work.
The 2026 workshop runs in Changsha from 18 August to 1 September. The prior cycle combined lectures with field research, digital heritage documentation, collaborative design work, and visits in Hunan.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be foreign undergraduate or postgraduate students at an overseas university or institution, or foreign full-time teachers or young researchers affiliated with one.
- Undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students may apply; the official notice also accepts eligible teachers and young researchers.
