DGIST Government Scholarship — Master's Scholarship

DGIST Government Scholarship is a funding route for students admitted to eligible graduate departments at Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology in Daegu, South Korea. Graduate admission automatically registers students for scholarship support, so there is no separate scholarship application.

The award supports master’s and doctoral study in listed science, engineering, computing, brain science, biology, biomedical, and quantum information programs. Applicants use the normal DGIST graduate admissions process and select one eligible department for each intake.

Benefits & funding

Full tuition coverage; DGIST advises applicants to confirm the applicable tuition amount with their department because fees vary by department and major.
Master’s students receive at least KRW 9.6 million per year, plus incentives that vary with research performance.
PhD students receive at least KRW 14.04 million per year, plus incentives that vary with research performance.
On-campus housing is available to international students, but it is not free: the published monthly rates are KRW 220,000 for a single room, KRW 170,000 for a double room, and KRW 290,000 for a married-student apartment; rates may change by academic year.

Eligibility

Applicants must gain admission to an eligible DGIST graduate department; scholarship registration is automatic after admission.
Master’s and integrated master’s–PhD applicants must submit an undergraduate degree or expected-graduation certificate and undergraduate transcripts.
PhD applicants must submit both undergraduate and graduate degree certificates and transcripts.
Eligible fields are Physics and Chemistry; Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering; Energy Science and Engineering; Brain Sciences; New Biology; Artificial Intelligence Major in Interdisciplinary Studies; Artificial Intelligence; Biomedical Science and Engineering; and Quantum Information Science.
Applicants who plan to remain employed by an organization or company while studying are directed to the General Scholarship route instead.
