This is the College of Policing track within three UKRI-funded What Works innovation fellowships on violence against women and girls. The fellow will work with the College’s Research, Analysis and Knowledge Sharing team to lead economic modelling of interventions intended to prevent domestic-abuse perpetration.
The work is intended to help decision-makers compare where and when prevention investment can have the greatest impact. The fellow will also contribute to the What Works Centre for Crime Reduction and the national What Works programme on violence against women and girls.
Benefits & funding
- Applicants may request up to £220,000 at full economic cost.
- The total comprises up to £180,000 for the fellowship and £40,000 for research and collaboration costs.
- UKRI funds 80% of the full economic cost, and the employing organisation is expected to support the remaining 20%.
- The fellowship runs for 18 months.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be based at a UK employing organisation eligible for UKRI funding.
- Applicants must hold a PhD or demonstrate equivalent research experience, together with relevant subject or methodological expertise.
- The fellowship is open to researchers at all career stages; no minimum number of years of experience is stated.
- Relevant fields include economics, econometrics, decision sciences, public policy, criminology, data science and statistics.
- Applicants must be able to work collaboratively, communicate complex analysis to non-academic audiences, co-design a work programme and lead knowledge exchange.
