data.org runs Finverse, a free decision-support tool and resource hub that helps organisations in Asia Pacific use data and AI to improve the financial health of the people and communities they serve. It covers India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore, with localised case studies, datasets and hands-on AI prompts.
The Finverse Fellows Program carries that tool into funded practice: selected organisations put their Finverse recommendations into action with a microgrant and curated expert support. data.org is a nonprofit launched in 2020 that convenes philanthropy, technology companies, academia and social-impact organisations, and has set itself the goal of training one million purpose-driven data practitioners by 2032. The 2026 cohort holds thirteen fellows, among them people from GyanDhan, Grameen Foundation, MICRA Indonesia, Smile API, Solve Education!, eKutir and the Institute of Philippine Culture.

Eligibility
- Organisations working on financial health outcomes in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines or Singapore.
- Eligible organisation types named by data.org: fintechs, banks, credit unions, and financial-inclusion nonprofits.
- A person applies on behalf of the organisation. The 2026 cohort is published as named individuals alongside the organisation each one works for.
- No nationality, age, degree or work-experience bar is stated. The gate is the organisation and the country whose communities it serves.
- The free Finverse diagnostic itself is open more widely — public sector and regulators, international agencies, and academic and research institutions can also use it — but the fellowship names the four organisation types above.

Application process
- 1Complete the free Finverse assessment at data.org/finverse. It runs in three parts — organisation type, location and target population; up to three data challenges; project context and contact details — takes about five minutes, and returns tailored recommendations.
- 2Turn those recommendations into a concrete project the organisation can deliver.
- 3Watch data.org for the next call. The data.org opportunities page lists no open Finverse round, and the 2026 cohort is already published.
- 4Apply on behalf of the organisation once a call opens, through data.org.
- 5Selected organisations receive the microgrant and expert support, and are published on the data.org fellows page.
