The Visiting Student Research Program is an on-campus research internship run by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. Eligible undergraduate and master’s students join a faculty-led STEM project in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, for two to six months.

More than 100 active projects span KAUST’s STEM degree programs, and interns work with faculty and use the university’s research facilities. Start and end dates are flexible throughout the year.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be undergraduate students in their third year or above, or current master’s students.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale is required.
  • English-language proficiency is required; official test scores may be requested during evaluation, and applicants who do not meet the published level may receive a Duolingo test token.
  • Current PhD candidates, KAUST students, and KAUST alumni are not eligible.
  • Required documents are English-language official transcripts for all degrees, a faculty recommendation letter, a passport valid for at least six months, a statement of purpose, and a CV.
