The LKYSPP-Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholarship supports students in the two-year, full-time Master in International Affairs at the National University of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. The Hinrich Foundation and LKYSPP offer two awards for the 2027 academic year.
Recipients study in Singapore and develop theoretical and practical expertise across international-affairs fields, with an immersive focus on Asia. The scholarship is intended for people seeking careers in global trade or international trade policy and affairs. Scholars can also engage with the Hinrich Foundation alumni network.
Benefits & funding
- Two scholarships cover full tuition for the two-year MIA.
- Recipients can engage with the Hinrich Foundation Alumni Association for mentorship, networking and possible career opportunities.
- The award is tuition-only; the school separately lists service and health fees, about S$4,000 in additional programme costs, and travel, accommodation, living and medical expenses.
Eligibility
- Applicants of any nationality may apply while enrolled in or applying to the MIA programme.
- Applicants must have at least three years of work experience and a strong interest in working in global trade.
- Applicants must demonstrate an interest in working in Asia after graduation.
- MIA admission requires a good Bachelor’s honours degree at second class or above, or an equivalent qualification, plus proficiency in written and spoken English.

Application process
- 1Prepare the MIA application documents: degree records and transcripts, a CV, required English test evidence or waiver support, a personal statement of no more than 600 words, an international-affairs-related writing sample of no more than 2,000 words, and two referee reports.
- 2Apply through the NUS Graduate Admission System and indicate that you want scholarship consideration.
- 3Pay the S$60 MIA application fee and submit the complete application and supporting documents by 11:59 p.m. Singapore time on 15 December 2026.
