Eligibility

• Applicants must be government officials and receive an official nomination from their government.
• Applicants must satisfy the admitting institution’s requirements and submit all required documents.
• Applicants must have strong spoken and written English and be in good mental and physical health.
• Applicants who previously received a Korean-government degree scholarship are generally ineligible, except holders of a Korean-government bachelor’s scholarship.
• Being under 40 is a preference, not a hard age limit.

Application process

   Confirm country eligibility and the local deadline with the KOICA overseas office or Korean embassy.

   Obtain official nomination from the applicant’s government.

   Prepare the KOICA forms, institutional documents, and document checklist, then submit them to the local KOICA office or embassy as instructed.

   Complete the local interview, university document review, medical checks, original-document submission, and university interview; an institution may also require a written examination.

   If admitted, follow the visa, vaccination, travel, and final medical-screening instructions before orientation.
