QF Grant Program for CMU-Q Students

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar

Application Deadline

February 1, 2027

Official Page

Qatar Foundation funds this need-based grant for students admitted to Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, an undergraduate campus in Education City, Doha. Awards are assessed against each family’s circumstances, carry no repayment obligation, and may cover up to the full cost of attendance.

The grant serves CMU-Q applicants in Artificial Intelligence, Biological Sciences, Business Administration, Computer Science, and Information Systems. The same grant application is required for applicants who want consideration for CMU-Q academic merit scholarship funds.

Benefits & funding

  • Need-based grant aid carries no repayment obligation and can cover up to the full cost of attendance.
  • The award is determined from each family’s financial circumstances; the official site does not promise a fixed amount.
  • A submitted QF grant application also enables consideration for limited CMU-Q academic merit scholarships, which may be combined with need-based aid.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must seek admission to a CMU-Q undergraduate degree program; Regular Decision applicants are in their final year of high school, have completed high school, or hold a high-school equivalency.
  • The need-based grant is available to students of all nationalities. Regular Decision uses the same application process for all applicants and has no stated residence restriction.
  • Early Decision has a route-specific restriction: Qatari citizens, non-Qatari residents of Qatar, and international applicants with at least one parent residing in Qatar may seek aid; international applicants outside Qatar are ineligible for aid in that round and cannot apply for aid later if admitted through Early Decision.
  • U.S. citizens using the QF grant route must apply for FAFSA aid before Qatar Foundation releases the final award letter.
  • The official pages state no age, gender, or work-experience requirement.
