AMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Grant Program — Forum / Summit

The AMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Grant Program helps student members attend the 107th AMS Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado, from 10–14 January 2027. The meeting brings together the weather, water, and climate community, and recipients attend in person without presenting a professional-session paper.

The American Meteorological Society runs the program annually. Presentations at the Student Conference do not affect eligibility.

Benefits & funding

Registration for the AMS Annual Meeting; Student Conference registration and short courses are not included.
Hotel accommodations during the meeting; AMS may assign shared rooms, and recipients may request a preferred roommate.
A $400 stipend toward travel within North America, paid after the meeting.

Eligibility

Be a senior undergraduate or graduate student.
Hold active 2026 AMS student membership by the 18 September 2026 application deadline.
Do not present a paper in a professional session at the Annual Meeting; Student Conference presentations are permitted.
Receive no more than one AMS travel grant in the 2027 calendar year, including any AMS Specialty Conference Travel Grant.
