Citadel’s Conference Travel Grant funds selected students to attend approved STEM conferences in person. Citadel is a multi-strategy alternative investment manager, and the program supports engagement with research communities relevant to its work. Eligible conferences currently include Grace Hopper Celebration, NeurIPS, Global Physics Summit, ICLR, ICML and ACL.
Each conference has its own application page and timeline, while a general interest form accepts requests for conferences not listed. The open 2026 routes shown on the program page are Grace Hopper Celebration in Anaheim and NeurIPS in Sydney.
Benefits & funding
- Citadel covers round-trip airfare, lodging, airport travel vouchers and a meal stipend.
- Citadel buys the full-access conference pass directly, except for Grace Hopper Celebration.
- Recipients attend Citadel-hosted dinners and recruitment events at their conference.
- Stipends may be taxable, and recipients remain responsible for taxes and any costs outside the stated benefits.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD program.
- Citadel is particularly interested in mathematics, computer science, physics, statistics and other quantitative fields; this is a preference, not a stated degree-field exclusion.
- For research conferences that publish papers, applicants who have submitted at least one paper to that conference receive preference.
- Recipients must attend in person; remote or virtual participation is not funded.
- The official materials state no nationality, residency, age, gender or professional-experience requirement.
