Benefits & funding

• Covers the full tuition fee for the normal duration of the recipient’s research postgraduate programme.
• Renews annually when the recipient maintains satisfactory academic performance.

Eligibility

• Enter a full-time, publicly funded research postgraduate degree in Hong Kong, including an eligible research master’s or doctoral route.
• Meet the admission requirements and scholarship consideration process of the participating institution.
• Selection considers academic performance, leadership and communication, contribution to an institution or society, and commitment to the Hong Kong community.
• The official scheme pages state no age, gender, residency, or work-experience requirement.

Application process

1. 1
   Identify an eligible full-time, publicly funded research postgraduate programme at a participating Hong Kong institution.

   Apply for admission by that institution’s programme deadline and follow its scholarship instructions.

   Provide the academic, research, reference, and other materials requested by the institution.

   The institution assesses eligible students and makes nominations; applicants should follow the chosen institution’s current scholarship procedures.

   If selected, maintain satisfactory academic performance for annual renewal.

Program timeline

1. Institution-specific

   Submit the research postgraduate admission application.

2. Each academic year

   Participating institutions assess and nominate scholarship candidates.

3. First year of study

   The scholarship begins for selected non-local entrants.

4. Annually during the normal study period

   Renewal is reviewed against satisfactory academic performance.
