Official Page

The Brockmann Cambridge Scholarship supports Mexican citizens who normally live in Mexico to pursue an eligible Master’s degree at the University of Cambridge. Cambridge Trust and the Becas Magdalena O. Vda de Brockmann Foundation jointly run the award, which is tenable at any Cambridge College.

Up to two scholarships may be awarded each year, although an award is not guaranteed if no eligible candidate is selected. Applicants must complete both the Becas MOB process and the Cambridge admission process.

Benefits & funding

  • The scholarship pays University tuition fees at the international rate.
  • It provides maintenance for one person at a rate no lower than the University minimum; awards for courses shorter than 12 months are adjusted proportionally.
  • It covers the Student visa and Immigration Health Surcharge.
  • The award lasts for the tenure of the recipient’s course.
  • Recipients must repay 30% of the Brockmann Foundation’s portion of the scholarship without interest after returning to Mexico.

Eligibility

  • Be a Mexican citizen and normally resident in Mexico, with demonstrated financial need.
  • Be under 33 on the application date.
  • Hold a diploma from a completed four-year undergraduate degree at an accredited university, with a minimum grade average of 8.5 and good academic progress.
  • Have a functional English score of at least 90 on TOEFL iBT or 7.0 on IELTS.
  • Apply for and secure admission to an in-person Cambridge Master’s course; MBA, EMBA, Global EMBA, MFin and MAcc courses are excluded.
  • Not already hold a Master’s degree or seek support for the second or a later year of a course already begun.
  • Have a financially solvent individual guarantor aged 25 to 70 who can provide an unencumbered property with a cadastral value at least 1.5 times the scholarship amount.
  • Commit to return to Mexico within six months after the degree, or within one year when the Foundation gives written permission for related professional practice in the UK, and work in Mexico for at least five years.
