FUNED Maestrías is an annual financing program run by the Fundación Mexicana para la Educación, la Tecnología y la Ciencia, with the financial support delivered through EDUK PRO. It supports eligible master’s study at qualifying leading universities and programs worldwide, whether in person, online, or hybrid.
The financing is repayable and is not a guaranteed scholarship. Applicants at partner universities may also be considered by the university for a tuition discount or scholarship.
Benefits & funding
- Financing is issued in USD at a fixed annual interest rate of 6.5%.
- Published support ranges vary by field and category: Category 1 offers USD 13,000–60,000, while Category 2 offers USD 1,000–30,000.
- The grace period covers the study period plus six months; repayment can extend to 8.5 years for Category 1 and five years for Category 2.
- A partner university may award a tuition discount or scholarship after FUNED support is formalized, subject to that university’s rules.
- Applicants who reach the formalization stage must pay a MXN 7,000 recovery fee; payment does not guarantee final approval.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be Mexican citizens by birth or naturalization.
- Applicants need a professional degree, or proof that it is in progress, and a minimum academic average of 8.0.
- At least one year of work experience is required; professional internships do not count.
- An official acceptance letter is required for an eligible master’s program at a qualifying top-10 or top-200 university, or a top-100 program, in a supported field.
- The master’s program may be in person, online, or hybrid and must last 6–30 months.
- Applicants and their guarantors must pass the applicable financial and credit review; the guarantor must be Mexican, reside in Mexico, be under 68, and own an unencumbered property in Mexico worth at least 2.5 times the requested financing.
