Official Page

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) Internship Programme places graduate students and recent graduates at the Fund’s headquarters in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea, supporting the world’s largest dedicated climate fund. Interns join teams across GCF’s work — climate, environment, finance, data, law, policy, engineering, IT and communications — gaining hands-on exposure to international climate finance.

The cohort programme recruits once a year, typically in December, for interns who start the following July. It is a paid internship with a monthly allowance, health insurance and, for international hires, round-trip flights.

  • Monthly allowance of USD 1,300 (net).
  • Free comprehensive global health insurance coverage.
  • Round-trip flights for international hires.
  • Paid leave, sick days and holidays.
  • Six-month term, extendable by a further six months (up to one year) subject to a performance review.
  • Direct experience inside the operations of the Green Climate Fund.

Eligibility

  • Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD programme prior to the internship assignment, or a recent graduate.
  • Academic study in a field directly related to the Fund’s work (e.g. climate, environment, finance, data, law, policy, engineering, IT, communications).
  • Excellent command of English.
  • Open to individuals of all nationalities; qualified candidates from developing nations are especially encouraged.
