The York International Entrance Award is an automatic York University award for the Fall/Winter 2026–27 academic year. It supports international high-school applicants and transfer applicants entering with fewer than 24 transfer credits.
Recipients must enroll full-time in an undergraduate program and pay international tuition fees. York determines eligibility from the final admission average, so there is no separate award application.
Benefits & funding
- One-time award of C$5,000.
- May be combined with faculty-based scholarships and awards, but not York’s Prestigious Scholarships.
Eligibility
- International high-school applicants, or transfer applicants admitted with fewer than 24 transfer credits.
- Final admission average of 75–79.9%, or the equivalent determined for the applicant’s curriculum.
- Full-time enrollment in a York University undergraduate program while paying international tuition fees.
- For the high-school route, the applicant must be under 21 at the end of the admission calendar year, have left full-time high school less than two years earlier, and have no study at an accredited college or university.
- York accepts international applications regardless of citizenship or country of residence; this award’s status gate is payment of international tuition, not a named country list.
- Recipients must accept the admission offer by its stated deadline and satisfy outstanding admission conditions within 30 days after the relevant term begins.
