The Graduate Research Assistantship places UAEU graduate students on funded research projects under a faculty member’s supervision. It is administered by the College of Graduate Studies at United Arab Emirates University and is open to students of all nationalities.
Applicants must already be active in a UAEU master’s or doctoral program, then select a funded project and apply directly to its principal investigator. Current project lists span multiple colleges and research fields.
Benefits & funding
- Recipients receive a monthly stipend whose amount is determined by the research grant budget.
- Support can last up to two years for master’s students or up to four years for doctoral students, subject to the grant’s duration.
- Assistantship duties are assigned by the supervisor and average no more than 20 hours per week under the university policy.

- Applicants of all nationalities may apply.
- Applicants must be active UAEU graduate students who have been admitted to a master’s or doctoral program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and good academic standing are required.
- Applicants must not hold another financial sponsorship.
- A college or unit may impose additional project-specific conditions.
