Official Page

Toshiba Youth Club Asia (TYCA) is an in-person exchange camp for high-school students from Japan and ten ASEAN nations. Toshiba International Foundation and ASJA International organize it, with ASCOJA as co-organizer and the non-profit BeGood Cafe running production.

Participants gather in Tokyo for lectures, site visits and team work on the region’s future. The organizers frame the camp around world energy, sustainability and advanced technological solutions.

The stated purpose is to build a network of young Asian leaders who will work toward peace and harmony in the Asia-Pacific region.

Benefits & funding

  • The organizers describe TYCA as an all-expense-paid, one-week exchange camp in Tokyo; the recent editions each ran eight days.
  • Vol.10 ran from March 21 to 28, 2026 at the National Olympics Memorial Youth Center (Yoyogi Olympic Center) in Tokyo.
  • The camp includes lectures, skills training, industry site visits and a team final presentation delivered to invited guests.
  • The official pages publish no cash award or stipend figure.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be high-school students from Japan or one of the ten ASEAN nations the program names: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
  • Participants are chosen by the organizers rather than admitted on request.
  • Each edition takes a subset of those countries: Vol.10 in March 2026 took the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Japan, while Vol.9 in December 2024 took Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei and Japan.
  • The official pages publish no age, gender, work-experience, residence or grade threshold.
